Do I need Council Permission?
As part of our service as a Design & Build Loft Specialist we
provide Architectural Drawings and Engineering Calculations for
each project. We submit these to your Individual Council to gain
the necessary approvals.
We can also provide a ‘standalone’ plans only service for people
who wish to have a specialist loft conversion company dealing with
a specialist area.
Generally
All Loft Conversions of whatever size, style or
complexity require Building Regulations Approval.
Some Loft Conversions require formal planning
permission, our designer will advise – they will also advise on
what scheme is most likely to be successful – as a specialist in
the field, we have a great deal of experience with most local
authorities and local planning policy and knowledge relevant to
Loft Conversions within London.
Where Loft Conversions do not require formal
planning permission by definition they must be permitted
development A Certificate of LD will be applied for by formally
requesting that the Local Authority accepts that the volume taken
up by any extensions to the roof do not exceed the Permitted
Development volume available to your home.
